In the daily life of a police officer there are many things that a police officer needs to be successful in the line of duty. Police officers must be in good health, be very physically fit, and have excellent hearing and vision. They must not have a criminal record. Everyone who applies to be a police officer   is investigated for any illegal activity. There is also observation skills. The officers that patrol are given tiny details to detect the neighborhood they are patrolling. Officers must have good judgement because they have to make decisions everyday. One of the most important deciding factors is the use of firearms. They must also decide how to deal with angry or dangerous people and wether to handle situations alone or request backup. A really important factor is to have good judgement under stress, because it is very important. During the main part of the day police officers come in contact with all kinds of people. There may be witnesses, suspects, along with different backgrounds and cultures. Police officers face a lot of stress in their jobs.
